Dr. David H. Lifschutz is a board-certified psychiatrist and clinical psychopharmacologist with two offices in New York City: SoHo and the Upper East Side. People often tell him that his honest, straightforward, and compassionate style has helped them achieve a level of confidence and strength they had not known before and that he has given them the peace of mind they need to cope with problems and move ahead with their lives.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Dr. Lifschutz completed his psychiatry residency and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Los Angeles County-University of Southern California (USC) Medical Center. He is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Lifschutz is also a HIMS-certified psychiatrist, which means he has been trained by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to evaluate and treat alcohol and substance abuse in pilots and air traffic controllers.
Dr. Lifschutz has also had seven years of training as a Psychoanalyst at the NYU Postdoctoral Program for Psychoanalysis.
Dr. Lifschutz is an attending staff psychiatrist at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital, where he also supervises psychiatry residents. He is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, as well as a member of the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry, and American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
