Traditional healing techniques date back many thousands of years, and Chinese medicine is indeed one of the most complete and detailed of those traditions. Interestingly enough, Chinese doctors understood the vascular system many hundreds of years before William Harvey documented his findings in the west. There has been over 5,000 years of documented clinical findings with re-viewings and reworkings to testaments of old.
The current application of this ancient medicine includes: the insertion of steel filiform needles into electro-magnetic points on the body, burning of mugwort on or near the body, Chinese massage, herbology, cupping, auricular therapy, electric stimulation, and more.
Using the principle theory of Yin and Yang a person is diagnosed in accordance with what can commonly be seen in nature. This can be referred to as above so below or as within so without. Just as we see heat, cold, wind, and damp outside it can also be observed occurring inside the body. Chinese medicine uses its many tools to bring the body back into balance, because that is what it is all about.
It is my mission and vision to bring health and well-being to people of all ages and stages. I value honesty, hard work, and determination to make dreams a reality. If we truly value our health we will find ourselves on the road to recovery. A connected and well, body, mind, and spirit starts on the personal level and eventually builds to a more encompassing space. It is my goal to help people achieve a sense of well-being in their lives as well as to show health and happiness are available to all who have the intention of seeking it.
My undergraduate degrees are in theatre and government, but I always knew I wanted to help people heal in the most natural of ways.
Along the way I have been introduced to and trained in Reiki. I have received my Reiki Master certificate.
The Chinese medicine program I completed was at the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The coursework included 2,850 hours with 800 hours of clinical experience. I have also been trained in moxibustion, Tui Na, cupping, electric stimulation, gua sha, plum blossom, herbal therapies, acupressure, lifestyle advice, and auricular therapy.
